The person inside a vacuum bed is completely immobilised and entirely dependent on their partner. The airway opening must be maintained and monitored throughout — if it collapses or becomes blocked, the person inside cannot clear it themselves. The operator must be able to cut or break the seal instantly. Never operate a vacuum bed alone or with someone who is unfamiliar with the equipment.

A bondage device made of two latex sheets sealed at the edges with a valve at one end. The person inside lies flat, the air is removed, and the latex conforms to the body — producing near-total immobilisation, compression, and warmth. A clear airway opening must be maintained at all times, and the person operating it must be able to release the seal immediately. Should never be used without a partner present.
