A frogtie is a bondage position in which each of the bound person's legs is folded so that the thigh and calf are pressed together and secured — typically using rope wrapped in a column tie around both segments of the leg — creating a posture that resembles a frog's resting position. The legs may remain splayed outward from each other, or be connected together at the ankles or knees depending on the intended effect and the wider scene context. The frogtie is one of the more accessible leg bondage configurations for those learning rope bondage, as it requires less flexibility than some other lower body ties and can be applied without extensive technical experience, though good technique remains important for safety and comfort.

The position is frequently combined with other ties — a chest harness, wrist bondage, or a connection between the frogties and an overhead anchor — to create more complex and immobilising configurations. In terms of sensation and psychological effect, the frogtie produces a pleasing sense of compactness and limitation: the legs, folded and secured, become substantially heavier and more unwieldy than in their natural state, and the position limits standing and free movement considerably. An important safety consideration is the pressure that can accumulate behind the knee in the popliteal area, where blood vessels and nerves run close to the surface. Rope wrapped too tightly in this area, or sustained pressure over time, can restrict circulation or compress the common peroneal nerve, causing numbness, tingling, or weakness in the lower leg and foot.

Regular circulation checks — testing sensation, temperature, and colour in the feet — are essential throughout any scene involving a frogtie, and the position should be released immediately if any signs of circulatory or neurological compromise are detected.
